Welcome

I am delighted to introduce you to Groombridge St Thomas Church of England Primary School.  We are a small, friendly primary school situated in the heart of the village of Groombridge, on the border between East Sussex/Kent. In September 2025, we became part of the Pioneer Federation and work in partnership with seven other small village schools.

Our purpose and overall aims are to aspire for excellence in every area to enable children to flourish and fulfill their potential, leaving us as well-rounded and confident individuals. We want all of our pupils to flourish and fulfill their potential academically and in their spiritual, social, moral, and cultural development. Understanding and promoting well-being and character development is very important to us at St Thomas'.

'Flourishing in the love of God, we love others as ourselves.'

Our school values of  EXCELLENCE   ENTHUSIASM   COMPASSION underpin everything that we do in school.

Throughout our school, you will see:

  • our nurturing, holistic, and caring ethos and values

  • an engaging,  creative, broad and balanced curriculum embedding the arts, music  and sport - we are very pleased to have achieved Gold Mark standard for Sport/PE and Healthy School satus

  • the consistently high aspirations and expectations of all our staff and governors

  • the ongoing support received from parents, the PTA, St Thomas' Church and the wider community

Visits to the school are warmly welcome. Please contact the school office to arrange.
