Formal consultation to Federate with the Pioneer Federation

Following the successful period of partnership with the Pioneer Federation, Governors at Groombridge St Thomas have agreed to enter into a consultation to formally federate with the Pioneer Federation starting in September 2025.

We believe that working in partnership this year has enabled our school to provide greater opportunities for pupils and staff and that joining the Federation will also better secure the long-term viability of our school. Retaining our individuality and ethos is a priority for us and we believe that the new Federation will ensure that this is retained.

We will be holding consultation question and answer sessions across the Federation at different times and dates. You are welcome to attend any of the meetings, with an online meeting also available. At GST our meeting will be at 2.30pm on Thursday 20th February in the Church. If you are unable to attend any of the meetings but would like any questions answered, please do use the email address above.

The consultation will close at noon on 23^rd March 2025 and Governors will meet shortly after to make our final decision which will be communicated to you by the 4^th April 2025. If this proceeds, GST Governors will form a joint shadow board with Pioneer to affect a smooth transition.
